Co-directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly, the film was produced by Columbia Pictures and Rovio Animation and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The movie was a commercial success and was followed by a sequel, The Angry Birds Movie 2 , in 2019.
