: Analyze the initiation characteristics of the detonation wave (e.g., using spark plugs vs. thermal jet tubes).

During the RDE-317 phase, the Architect/Engineer (A/E) must refine the project's scope based on previous owner and constructability reviews. rde 317

: Document the success of the intervention, follow-up results, and any complications. : Analyze the initiation characteristics of the detonation

An annular combustion chamber (coaxial cylinders) is fed continuously with fuel and oxidizer through small injection ports. Upon initiation (e.g., by a spark plug and a pre-detonator), one or more detonation waves form and travel around the annulus at speeds of 1.5–2.5 km/s (Mach 5+). Fresh mixture injected ahead of the wave is compressed and burned almost instantly. Behind the wave, high-pressure combustion products expand axially out of the chamber (through a nozzle) and circumferentially, creating a continuous torque-like pressure profile. : Document the success of the intervention, follow-up
