Programming a two-way radio is not a free-for-all. In the United States, the FCC mandates that radios operating on Part 90 (Land Mobile) frequencies must have that prevents end-users from programming out-of-band frequencies. The CS-F3000 enforces the radio’s pre-defined frequency range (e.g., 136–174 MHz for VHF models; 400–470 MHz for UHF).

You dive into the tab. The F3000 is a 5-tone paging monster, originally designed for European public safety. You can program a PTT ID that sends a sequence of tones every time you key up. The CS-F3000 requires you to enter tone durations in milliseconds and frequencies in Hertz manually. There is no library of standard formats.
