Availability and installation The update is being rolled out over the air (OTA) to all eligible ID.4 vehicles in China in phased batches starting today. Owners will receive an in‑car notification when their vehicle is ready to download and install the update. Installation requires that the vehicle be parked and have at least 20% state of charge; the process takes approximately 30–45 minutes. Owners can also choose to have the update installed at authorized Volkswagen service centers.
