The title refers to the physical and metaphorical journey of the protagonist, Sidhu. He travels from his humble beginnings in Chandni Chowk , a famous and historic market in Old Delhi, all the way to the vast and foreign land of China .

: The film follows Sidhu (Akshay Kumar), a simple, unlucky vegetable cutter from the famous Chandni Chowk market in Delhi who dreams of a better life. Two strangers from a small, oppressed village in China mistake him for the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, Liu Shen. Encouraged by a conman named Chopstick, Sidhu travels to China, believing he'll be treated as royalty. In reality, the villagers want him to defeat the ruthless tyrant, Hojo (Gordon Liu). With the help of Sakhi (Deepika Padukone), a tele-shopping model, Sidhu must find the courage within himself to become a real hero and save the village.

The movie was shot on location in China, including the Great Wall, and featured extensive stunt work from the cast, particularly Akshay Kumar.
